Blix Gear Box transforms one of the most important mechanical concepts into a building experience. As your kids assemble the gearbox and watch the gears mesh together, they discover how motion and power are transferred through a machine. Through every turn and gear change, they gain a practical understanding of how gear systems work in the world around them.
Gear Box introduces your children to gear systems and RPM calculation. As gears mesh together, you discover how motion and power are transferred through a machine.
10 gear experiments on a working car · 100+ parts · ages 7+
The main build — a motorized 4-wheel-drive car with a fully visible gearbox and a 2-way (forward/reverse) switch.
Hands-on experiments on the car: driver / driven / output shafts, torque & power, speed vs. torque, reversing rotation direction, idler & compound gears, and gear ratios.
