How BrickAndMotorLabs Came to Be

We're a husband-and-wife team who came to Canada to build a new life — and are now proud Canadian citizens building a new business.

I'm a software developer. My wife is a bioinformatician. We've spent our careers working with code, data, and logic — but the thing that excites us most is watching a kid's face light up when an engineering idea finally clicks.

That's what led us to Blix. Blix is a line of hands-on STEM robotics kits designed and engineered in India — trusted by parents and educators there, and already used in classrooms and homes. Gears, motors, circuits, levers, and remote-controlled builds that kids assemble with their own hands. No screens required.

When we looked at the Canadian market, we saw a gap. So many "STEM" toys are screen-heavy, or too simple to teach anything real. The kind of kits we loved simply weren't available here. So we reached out to the makers, and together with a friend, we signed an agreement to bring Blix kits to Canada.

That agreement is how BrickAndMotorLabs was born — a Canadian company on a simple mission: give every curious kid in Canada a kit that teaches them real engineering.
